Photographs of strangers |
|
my interest in the everyday person inspires my work the story behind the face and the individuals tale, these are some pictures in and around Sheffield. its the second time i have done this and i love the striking photographs produced from just asking a stranger to pose for a portrait and it surprises me how willing they are to be involved.
The story behind the face
My recent work focuses on the elderly, exploring the story behind the face; these explorations are exposed through mixed media portraiture and black and white photography. For me personally, the story behind the everyday person inspires me. People watching has become a great pastime of mine and I often find myself wondering what the story behind how each person came to be at that exact spot in that exact moment in time. I personally believe the elderly often go unnoticed in today’s society. With each line and wrinkle comes a story, these people have lived through countless events and new discoveries, they come from a different time, where life was not as we know it now.
Photography
These are a few photographs which I have taken in my own time, photography is something I really enjoy especially in the surrounding countryside at my home in Derbyshire.
